Games from 2016 can be played in high settings an the Full HD resolution. The GeForce GTX 960M is beaten by around 30%, so the GTX 1050 is comparable to a GTX 965M in general. It can be just as fast as the desktop model under ideal conditions, but the notebook model is usually a bit slower. The performance of the GeForce GTX 1050 can vary quite a lot depending on the cooling performance of the laptop. The GP107 chip is manufactured in a 14 nm FinFET process at Samsung and offers a number of new features, including support for DisplayPort 1.4 (ready), HDMI 2.0b, HDR, Simultaneous Multi-Projection (SMP) as well as improved H.265 video de- and encoding (PlayReady 3.0). It is shipped with up to 4 GB GDDR5-VRAM attached via 128-bit interface and a 7 Gbps memory data rate (112 GB/s). The notebook version differs a bit in terms of clocks, but is equipped with 640 shader units, just like the desktop model.
Contrary to the faster models, the GTX 1050 uses the GP107 chip, which is manufactured in a 14 nm process at Samsung. The Nvidia GTX 1050 is a mainstream GPU based on the Pascal architecture and was announced in January 2017. The HD Graphics 630 can be found in several notebook and desktop processors of different TDP classes (35 - 91 W). HDMI 2.0 however is still only supported with an external converter chip (LSPCon). Furthermore, HDCP 2.2 is also supported in all chips, which allows Netflix 4K videos, for instance. The revised video engine in the Kaby Lake chips now supports H.265/HEVC Main10 profile at 10-bit color depth and also the VP9 codec in hardware.
However, it should be fairly similar to the HD Graphics 530 (see for gaming benchmarks) and therefore only suited for low demanding games like Overwatch or Farming Simulator 2017 (low details). The exact performance of the HD Graphics 630 depends on various factors like TDP, 元 Cache, memory (DDR3/DDR4) and maximum clock rate of the specific model. Due to its lack of dedicated graphics memory or eDRAM cache, the HD 630 has to access the main memory (2x 64-bit DDR3L-1600 / DDR4-2133). The "GT2" version of the GPU offers 24 Execution Units (EUs) and the clocks depend on the CPU model. The Intel HD Graphics 630 (GT2) is an integrated graphics card, which can be found in various desktop and notebook processors of the Kaby-Lake generation (Kaby-Lake-H quad-core chip).
